Roasted Hazelnut Marzipan

Yummy, and much more flavorful than store bought.

Makes 1 Cup


INGREDIENTS

  • 2 1/4 cups (220 grams) Hazelnut, toasted and skinned

  • 1 1/2 cups (172 grams) Powdered Sugar

  • 1 large Egg White (about 30 grams)

  • 1 1/2 tablespoon Frangelico (18 grams)

  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract (4 grams)


Note: You can substitute other nuts in this recipe, and an equal amount of nut flour. This recipe makes (~15oz) a tad more than 2 of the store bought tubes of marzipan, feel free to substitute it in your favorite recipe.



INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a food processor or blender, grind nuts into a fine powder.

  2. Add powdered sugar, egg white, Frangelico, and vanilla; blend into a smooth paste.

  3. Wrap in plastic wrap and keep refrigerated up to 1 month.
